Bitch Seat
My artwork explores the sexual objectification and cultural stereotyping of women in motorsports events and how this affects my identity as a female motorcyclist. I zoomed in on the Grid Girls' appearance after an announcement was made earlier this year, to withdraw the Grid Girls from MotoGP and Formula 1 Racing events.
I have used cutting as a metaphor to deliberately create spaces and voids leaving the viewer to decide whether their appearances resonates with modern societies moral values.
